lil background story. I picked up the tank used for about $80. which i kinda think I over paid but its all good. It did come with some good amount of live rock and sand. So now began the fun. I dumped all that water and sand. think i might of killed two lil hermits. RIP. the tank was pretty nasty. I filled that bad boy up with vinegar and water let it sit for a day. scrubbed it up and down. drained. then filled with fresh water let it sit for another 24hrs then dumped it. let it dry. now that the tank was spotless i purchased some Tahitian black sand and set up my aquascape and let the tank sit it Di water for about 3-4 days because i wanted to kill any buggers living in my live rocks. on day 4 i plucked out a few bristle worms.

So the following day i filled it up with saltwater from my brother in laws 120G.
 makes cycling so much easier. lol

so thats how the tank sat for a few days with the stock PC bulbs while i did research on LED retros for the BC14. was originally gonna purchase from nanotuners but on the day that i made up my mind to buy from them the bums shut down.... :headwalls: lol so i went with option B and went to RapidLEd and got my kit from them. I lil bit more hands on then i expected, but splicing wires is right up my alley. but i did go w/ the plug and play kit they sell because i of have never soldered anything and was kinda scared id mess it all up. Along with that kit i bought a dimmer controller for it as well to give me sunrise, sunset blah blah blah.. As far as the stand i picked that up at Savers (its kinda like goodwill or salvation army) for a sweet price of $14. it was originally a filling cabinet lol but i put some hinges on it and took my jigsaw to the back and cut a hole for wires... just wish it was taller so i wouldnt have to squat down or sit on a stool to look at my tank. :strange:
<a href="http://s28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/thiago_caetano/?action=view&current=SU1BRzAxNzguanBn.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/thiago_caetano/SU1BRzAxNzguanBn.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
this is the after shot with the cree leds 6 pure white 6 royal blue set up in a cross pattern. and here is how the wiring looks as of now took me a white to finaly get everything organized <a href="http://s28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/thiago_caetano/?action=view&current=SU1BRzAyODQuanBn.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/thiago_caetano/SU1BRzAyODQuanBn.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> i also bought a few other toys for it like a JBJ ato. among other things like a Intank media basket. with the submerge-able fuge light. a koralia evo nano 245 and digital thermostat and i upgraded the return to a mj900. another niffty lil accessory that i picked up the other day at walmart was socket extensions. they are about 6inches long but they make room by plunging those ac adapter so they arent blocking my all my timers on the extension. (ill post a updated pic of that later) :spin1:

<a href="http://s28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/thiago_caetano/?action=view&current=SU1BRzAyODUuanBn.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/thiago_caetano/SU1BRzAyODUuanBn.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

so here are some more pictures of the tank as its been progressing. the Coraline growth has been doing pretty good. but i have been seeing some alge growth on some of my rocks it likes like super tinny blades of grass kinda like a weed.. (been to lazy right now to really find out what is it) I got my CUC from reefcleaners and man that was a good deal, they even tossed in some red algae for a penny. and it was like snail paloza when i added in all those suckers. i did give a few away to a few reefer that has been really awsome in hooking me up with a frag of xenias and kenya tree.

so here is what is currently stocked in my tank:
Fish:
1-Firefish
1-Clown Fish
1-Starry Blenny (awsome dude, took him back to lfs cuz he was kinda a douche)
2-sexy shrimp (its awsome how they wave their booties in the air)
1-coral banded shrimp (not sure how i feel about him, yet. ive always had cleaner shrimp and i thought id try something new, but i sure do miss those free manicures from the Cleaner shrimp.)

Inverts:
Crocea clam
green bubble tip nem

Softies:
Xenia
kenya tree
watermellon zoa
lanter green zoa (one head)
Starburst zoa (one head)
hairy mushrooms
yellow polys

Still in the process of buying some stony corals but i really want to get the parameters of my led before i go with that. as far as i can tell i cant be that bad because when i got my clam from the lfs it has barely any color under their kessils. And its gotten alot brighter seeing alot more blues and now hints of green is showing up.

the funny thing is that i bought the nem for the clown but i think me might be a lil slow. because he never tried hosting, instead the two sexy shrimp made it their home lol, which i didnt know till i researched it the other day. awsomeness lol. Ive been doing 1-2g water changed every weekend. and feeding i keep it at every other day with a mix of flakes/pellets. and ill switch it to Mysis shrimp on the days that i also feed all the inverts w/ some microfilter yummy guey liquid. :)

prob the only update that im still working on would be the ATO. i have the float switch installed and some how managed to work with the intank fish saver. im still debating if i should have a pump inside a bucked it or something or use a aqualifter and that way i can keep a small container inside the stand and everything looks crisp and clean.. (ill let you know on the final answer) :) here are some more pics..

the xenias are doing pretty good. this deff. wont be their final location ill prob seclude them to a corner of the tank where they cant spread like weeds.

here is a full tank shot that i took today when i went home for lunch.. tank is a lil dirty havent cleaned the glass and i just fed the inverts so it was a lil cloudy.
<a href="http://s28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/thiago_caetano/?action=view&current=SU1BRzAyODYuanBn.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/thiago_caetano/SU1BRzAyODYuanBn.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

So my tank has been getting a lil hotter then usuall.. i figured out that my stock fans were basic donezoo. so i ordered some the other day off good-ol-ebay. should be here soon. My next purchase that i really really want is a MP10. I know its unnecessary, and that i would prob be running that bad boy in the lowest setting. but i feel that my corals would deff like a more natural flow in the tank. plus that would help out w/ keeping extra heat out of the tank. but in reality we all just get it cuz its uber cool :)

as far as misc. things i bought all new testing kits, invert food, calcium, seaweed clips, fragging tools, hydrow meter, few diff size tubbing from homedepot... I forgot how much this all adds up over time... DAMN.. :( wish i didnt sell my 40g last year then i wouldnt be dealing with all this bullpoop.

here is a pic of my 40g

im debating whether or not to trade my coral banded shrimp for a cleaner shrimp.. iono the CBS looks pretty cool, but i dont feel like he really provides any benefits to my reef. What do you guys think?

i love the look of your bio cube. Yours is a beautiful tank, i like the rock scape

Thanks salty. I just tweaked the aquascape today still same concept but I opened the back of the tank a Tad more.I'll post a pic later tonight.on a positive note.I received my new toys.I'm loving the mp10es. Still haven't seen any big change with the deflector. But it looks cool.

The bottom picture of your inTank order - is that a spreader for the overflow?

Yup, something they just came out with. So it spreads the water out.instead of just dripping it in the front. I'm still tinkering with it. So I'll let you know how I really feel about it once I have.it dialed in. It was like $6.99 as far a my other new toys......I love my mp10. Best money I've spent so far since I've done my leds. Now I can sell that koralia nano evo and by a new frag =)

here is a picture of the mp10es controller. right now im running it on reefcrest mode. i tried the feed mode as well. so far im content with my purchase plus it looks so dag gone spiffy under my stand lol :) <a href="http://s28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/thiago_caetano/?action=view&current=SU1BRzAzMzIuanBn.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/thiago_caetano/SU1BRzAzMzIuanBn.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

anyone here now how to move a clam? the lil sucker has his lil foot attached to this one rock. and i have now clue how to get him off with out hurting him. i learned my lesson a few years back w/ my last clam. once that lil foot gets ripped, they basically die on yah. and im not looking forward to lose $50

<a href="http://s28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/thiago_caetano/?action=view&current=SU1BRzAzMzEuanBn.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/thiago_caetano/SU1BRzAzMzEuanBn.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

here is a picture of the hydor deflector at work. as far as im proviment with flow with this thing, i dont really it see it. but it does look nicer then the stock return i had on there. and at least it will blow some of that flow on the rocks, i might have to tweek my aquascape just a lil. mainly the two rocks i have ontop.

<a href="http://s28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/thiago_caetano/?action=view&current=SU1BRzAzMjcuanBn.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/thiago_caetano/SU1BRzAzMjcuanBn.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

here is a shot of the mp10.. im still playing around with the position. has anyone heard of anything about best placement in a biocube??
<a href="http://s28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/thiago_caetano/?action=view&current=SU1BRzAzMjYuanBn.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c237/thiago_caetano/SU1BRzAzMjYuanBn.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

here is the water spreader by intank, so far im just a tad dissapointed with it. the cuts and shape are great, the only thing that is turning me off on it is the grip area that keeps the first tab and media rack together. it doesnt really stay in place, feels like i need to do something either to prop it up or modify that bottom grip. ill post a picture of how it sits in the tank later. i really want to make sure that its doing what i promised. so ill know later tonight when i look at my filter floss.

Im soo happy with my tank. and also in debt. haha all i have left to buy for it now is a new stand, cuz im totally over squatting to look at my tank. I have been just putting a stool in front of it and just sit down, cuz its killing my knees. As far as my next up grade i really want a reef controller. still doing my research. I would love a Apex. but some of the other contenders are the reef angel, RKL. Im really looking for that extra piece of mind, so when i go to vacation in Brazil i can keep an eye on it.
