I have been a member on RC for a long time now, never really posted to much, thought it might be time to share my tank and get some advice from people on here.

Starfire 6 x 2.5 x 20" total 1100 litres
This is my second tank, firt was a std 4ft drilled with sump, which i soon grew out of.

+1!
Great tank and thanks for sharing!
Could you please share some more info about your routines and equipment/filtering etc?

Wow, awesome colors and fish selection

Thanks mate, I'm really loving the anthias variety we are getting here at the moment, still a few I would like to add.

I'll get more sump pics up soon

I run a vertex 250 skimmer with a diy recirc biopellet reactor. 2 x reactors (Gfo and carbon). Avast kalk stirrer, kamoer dosing pump for 2 part (plus str, iron, iodide). De bary 25w uv (find it helps with water clarity and I guess some disease control)
Fairly big miss match of gear but all for a reason. I also have a decent fuge running.

Circulation is 2 x mp40 and 2 jebao wp40

Looks like you should be giving advice more than taking it, great tank

It's always good to have ppl critique it for you. Brings up ideas you wouldn't normally think of.

Sharp looking colors are incredible!

Thanks, still a fair way to go, have had some ups and downs with this new tank

Looks awesome! What kind of lighting are you running?

Thanks mate, it's an ati powermodule 10 x 80w and frag tank below has a 150w mh. I ran led previously but wasn't getting the colour/growth I do now.

Well, your colors certainly look great! T5's are a wonderful thing, and you can't beat the ATI PM. Thanks for the info!

Awesome reef mate, what are those anthias you have and how many, they look super cool in that big school. :)
How is the purple tang with the yellows, everyone getting along ? Is that green stag a piece of Dallas - i bet it bloody is lol. A LFS in Melbourne had 4-5 little 2" frags of that weed and wanted $120- per frag ! They said it was Dallas and rare hahahaha ! I stopped going to that LFS after that as they obviously had no clue about SPS in Aus or were just flat out lying. I posted that stag to other guys years ago in express post parcels with no heating pad and it still bloody survived - rare, yeah right........

Amazing. Love the different schools of anthias as well

Thanks mate

Hi boggles, I follow your thread religiously!! Yes that is Dallas, it's crazy what a Victorian store will tell some ppl. I get a lot of my anthias from williamstown aquarium which I believe u go to often.
Current anthias list is
1 Borbonius
6 dispar
5 cooperi
5 Randall's
4 lyretails
Still a few more to go! Would like to try pascalus next. I feel I'm ready for the challenge.

Few more pics from tonight

This digi is from the one and only Scotty Freddy!!

Had this little guy since he was 3-4cm.

Thanks for looking,
Nathan

Wow :eek1:

Love the tank and the fish selection, as others have pointed out. The variety of the anthias is awesome, and especially like the angel and the Moorish idol!

Can you tell us a bit more about your experience with the Moorish? How you acclimated it, got it on prepared foods, in what order it was added to your system, and what it eats now? I wouldn't have thought about this fish in a SPS system, but I notice you have one and last months TOTM Stonecold also had one.

Thanks jroovers,

The moorish was a lucky gamble. I bought a pair 8 months ago just after I started up this tank. This one thrived while the other wasted away. I fed live brine, flake, nori, and some diy mix that I make with marinara mix. He is good shape but I feel to keep him going long term he will need some sponge to feed off.

Had some ups and downs... Lost some fish in power out but getting over that.
New pics

Pink robusta, all the rage currently.
