I ran URI 160 W internal super actinicics, & daylights growing nice sps for years, W/ ice caps, I still run them them with halids now cause I wanted some clams, my friends couldn't believe my growth & color with my sps with only URI's!

One more issue that I haven't seen mentioned: bulb choice. With VHO you have a very very limited choice in bulbs. There is a much larger selection (and growing) in T5s. They have pretty much replaced VHOs.
