If it is indeed a reptile tank the glass is prolly not thick enough to fill it with water. I would just be cautious about that.
 
I'm not aware that anyone makes specific reptile tanks. Ammonia from reptile waste can leech into the silicone seams, and you have to get that out by either rinsing with bleach multiple times or by cutting out and re-doing the inside silicone seams. The tank should just be a standard 125 though, so I wouldn't worry about the glass....the people who got it obviously don't know a lot about the hobby and just called it a reptile tank since that's what it was clearly used for.
 
Reptile tanks are made of thinner glass, but aren't usually bigger than 60g (unless custom). Cloakerpoked is correct about the leeching. Depending on the use of the tank, it may be best to be resealed. Resealing a tank isn't hard...just take your time and be patient.
