Hi there,

my name's Tim Wijgerde, I'm from Holland and I'm just another reef enthusiast. I have been into the marine aquarium hobby for a year now. I have about 10 yrs of experience with aquaria, but this is my first saltwater tank.

I'm curious to know what you guys think of my tank.

Some general info:

Tank dimensions: 130 x 50 x 50 cm = 52 x 20 x 20 inches,
325 litres = 85,5 USG

Lighting: 2 x 150W 10.000K metal halides
(or HQI as we say in europe)
2 x 54W T5 ATI blue
1 x 38W T8 blue

Skimmer: H&S 150-F2001 + aqua medic PH 2500 (with venturi)

Pumps: Ocean runner 3500 for aquarium/sump communication
Tunze 6060 + Tunze turbelle 1600 for water current

Calcium reactor: Ratz standby 110

Filter media: phosphate absorbant + active coal

Dosing: aqua medic niveaumat for maintaining water level/osmolarity

Here are some pictures of my tank evolving. Currently, the tank is getting dominated by SPS corals; 5 species of Acropora, some Montipora's, Seriatopora hystrix and S. caliendrum.

Futhermore, the tank contains some nice LPS corals like 2 Euphyllia sp., 2 Caulastrea furcata colonies and an Alveopora gigas colony.

The tank also is inhabited by lots of Xenia, some soft corals, some Discosoma sp., Rhodactis sp., Ricordea sp., 3 species of Zoanthus, filter tubeworms, a Tridacna derasa and the usual Aiptasia now and then.

Welcome Tim!
Your tank has matured beautifully- I love seeing how the green Montipora Cap. has grown so much. For that matter how the whole tank has grown. Thanks for the pics.

Hi guys,

thanks for the warm welcome and your compliments. I do have more fish in my tank, these pictures didnt really show them off...

This is a list of my fish:

1 x Zebrasoma flavescens
1 x Pseudochromis fridmanni
2 x Amphiprion ocellaris, inhabiting 4 Entacmaea quadricolor anemones
1 x Salarias fasciatus
1 x Chrisyptera hemicyanaea
1 x Dascyllus melanurus

I dont like overstocking tanks, so my tank is quite full already IMHO.

Here are some pics of my fish, and some nice macros of my corals:
