Another MH Bulb Question...

I have a 180g setup with 3 - DE 250w fixtures and T5 suppliments... I currently have Pheonix 14K bulbs.

My question is this: What are everyones thoughts on the different bulbs? Manufacturer/color temps?

These were the first DE 250w bulbs that i had and liked the bulbs but i am in need to replacing them and i am trying to figure out if I want to stay with the Pheonix bulbs or try something new.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Scott

Those are nice bulbs for DE. How has your growth/color been. If it has been fine I would not change them.

From what I've seen, especially in 150w DE, Phoenix 14ks and Radium 20ks are where its at. There are a few others, but the Phoenix bulbs are by far the most popular bulb.

They don't because most of the SE 250 and 400s are supposed to be run with a HQI ballast. So you just use the SE bulbs.

seriously I don't know why they don't

Andy, where did you see that coralvue make Radiums?

I think it's asinine that they wouldn't make a double end bulb. I can't just use a SE bulb.

They're great bulbs from what I hear, and they're cutting off their nose to spite their face by excluding those of us that have DE sockets. It's not like they're uncommon or something.

They may distribute them (they distribute many things), but I'm fairly certain they don't manufacture too many things.

Coralvue also makes 250w DE HQI's so I would assume they would make the same in Radium if they manufactured them. If they do manufacture them, I would be giving them a call
