evsalty- im not adding anything else anytime soon i'm just trying to get some advice and plan ahead now instead of just going into the store and listening solely to him...

But like most have said in this thread you are maxed out on your fish load so why even look at adding more fish????:headwalls:

Well, what's done is done. It's not the end of the world. That's a lot of livestock for a 7-8 week old tank. Maybe even for a mature 150 gal tank. And those tangs make BIG poop! Maybe the added bacteria in a bottle will help speed the maturation of filtration to handle the sudden increased load. Keep an eye on your ammonia and nitrates.
Read and learn a lot. No matter how trustworthy your LFS is, there will be a tendency to accede to whatever your wishes are, regardless of whether those wishes are good or bad for your aquarium, then solve whatever problems arise by selling you more stuff. Better idea is for you to learn and avoid the bad stuff to begin with. This hobby is expensive enough done right, but it can cost 10X more if things are not done right.
Just curious. What is your set-up, exactly? How many pounds live rock, what filtration system, do you have a sump, do you have a skimmer, do you use supplemental powerheads in the display, what are your lights, do you use tap water or RODI, etc? Your tank is just like my tank. See my sig? It's got all that info. It will help everyone here a lot in helping you if we knew your exact set-up.
4 tangs is not THAT bad. I've had 4 tangs for over a year now, and I got them just like you before iknew any better. Sure, two of these will outgrow my tank, someday. Make sure to feed those tangs vegetable based food as they herbivores. Things like dried seaweed, or Nori, or unflavored sushi wrap. Here's a pic of MY 4 tangs. I know, I know, I'm a bad boy, too, but what's done is done.

ok now this may be dumb but do the same rules apply when adding LPS? i was wanting to put some anemones and other corals in but obviously dont want to rush anything any more than i already have...what are the general rules on that?

Some people suggest adding some easy corals before fish. But you are beyond that point.
No one brought up quarantining.
Quarantining is the BEST WAY to slow yourself down.
If you value your main display tank, start qt'ing.
I did but not for long enough and broke protocol. I paid for it and spent the last 3-4 months juggling at least 2 sometimes 3-4 tanks at once. Lost some fish. It was a lot of work and not much fun.
I think the most common threads here are either DIY LEDS or My Tank Has Ich.
Now my DT is ich free (at least I believe it to be), I will never add anything directly into it again.
I just got a chocolate tang, the biggest fish I have, and as much as I love it (and it was from an online vendor that qt's their fish- divers den), it went into my observation tank.
I have a 125g and hemmed and hawed about what tang to add. I wanted a yellow. Then I wanted a purple and chocolate. I ended up with just the chocolate for fear of aggresion. A "peaceful" tank is more important to me than beautiful but miserable fish.
If you want some info on many fishes including recommended tank sizes, liveaquaria dot com has it.

Corals will require "cleaner" water than just fish. So I would check your ammonia, nitrites and nitrates for the next few weeks and if they seem stable, go for it.
I would probably add some coral before I'd consider any more fish...

good point...ihave a 50g bowfront that i was going to use for another tank down the road but its just sitting in the garage as of now...i could set it up in my hunting room and use it as a quarantine tank...will a HOB filter be sufficient since that is all it will be used for?

i have t5 with two daylight and two blue bulbs...i'm giong to get all the specs and fill out a sig tomorrow when i get home from work...LFS guy said i would proably need to add another fixture doubling what i have now for lights
