Another pls help me thread!

Well I own a profilux light II that controls my AI units, very impressed and satisfied with the product and CS.

That being said I just got a profilux plus II with extra Ph socket and I'm going thru the motions( off course I have no manual LOL)

This system will contrrl a small cube with an AI solblue and currrent software version is 4.02.

Several questions I need addressed and to be honest after multiple search in the forum I'm wiped, before I bother Garreth and give up I would like to post all my Q's and Mr. Michael and company will guide me.


Here we go.

Unit is connected and I'm able to connect the profilux plus II via rs332!!!!!!!! I was stumped before when I did my other unit, so that's a step forward.

1- the powerbar is connected to the s1-s4 via supplied cable-- no leds are on. So I need to some guidance on how to get the PAB to be recognized by the profilux ( as well as having it recognize the 4 sockets) in order to start the firmware and software process.

2- Would u guys please be so kind and provide me with the proper order to upgrade the firmware and software for both my PC and Profilux so i can get it to the latest version in both the profilux as well as the powerbar.

3-I would greatly appreciate some links in order to make this less painful and get this unit up and running.


TYVM and PROPS to PROFILUX and thier CS the greatest controller in the hobby.


( I'm still not brave enuff to take my aquatronica out and control my whole tank with profilux, but after all this that's gonna be my next step once I get this cube( test run) running solely on profilux.

Btw my first step once the profilux was connected to the laptop and the powerbar was connected was to RESET the unit to factory settings.

Hi

First thing is you have totally either confused me or yourself as to what you have as you mention PAB but you also mention Plus II, a Plus II does not have PAB control so if you have a PAB power bar you cant connect it to a PLus II only a P3.

Argh - ok you have a 4 socket power bar? now I am more confused LOL

So lets first see what equipment you really have

1. Do you have a Plus II or a P3
2. What type of power bar do you have?

My initial thoughts from reading the whole post is that you have a plus II (possibly) with 4 socket power bar and it wont connect over RS232. V4.03 is very ol firmware and gives me an idea of the age of the unit. Saying that mine is a 2004 model and is rocking the butt off my tank.

To muddy waters further this is second hand so we dont know its history? Did you see it working prior to purchase?

Reason I say that is although Profilux is a bullet proof unit it does not like water bullets like any other controller and two things you mention are 100% plug and play with ProfiLux which mildly concerns me.

RS232 connection - pretty much pc to Profilux plug and play
4 socket power bar - plug it into S1S4 it is plug and play

I think the best thing here is to stop this becoming a huge thread, drop me an email at sales@aqua-digital.com and we can go from there.

If you are connecting through RS232 and on firmware version that low the best option is to use the fujitsu upload tool which you can download from the GHL website and follow the written instrustions in the back of the manual (I hope you were provided) under the section "If all else fails"

4 socket power bar - this is simple plug into S1S4 go to socket function outlet and assign what you want each socket to do as you work your way through setting things up, for example plug a co2 soleniod into s1 and assign s1 to pH down then set you nominal vlaue in the pH screen

But your first task is to update the profiLux.
