Instead of pushing water my 6080 now sucks water throught the exit hole.
I clean the 6080 every 2 months in vinegar and have had to send it back once already.
How can I fix this problem now.
Thank you Erik
well it just finished the vinegar bath again, looked at the impellar and on the magnet part there is a brown Burn looking mark. Plugged it back in, still the same, turned it off and on then it worked right?
The burn mark likely has nothing to do with it. This problem would be caused by faulty brake shoes, a missing oring at the base of the drive units upper bearing, or a bad bush bearing. Check if the O ring is missing. This sort of problem is usually caused by 1) sand entering the pump and grinding down parts. 2) Losing a part while cleaning. 3) Use on a wavemaker.
ok thanks for your replies. The oring probably was lost or eaten up by sand, Is there a rebuild kit for this pump? with new brakes, o-ring and impellar?
Erik
That sounds right. It is just really important taht you change the bush bearing (the collar piece) If you want to send it in I'll get it working, maybe a part was out of spec in that kit.
I see your picture of it fully taken apart, can we get a pic added to your tread of it fully assembled?
Erik
Just incase I did something stupid before I send it in
Thanks for your help
Erik
Erik, I am really out of time. I have to go to a funeral and our offices will be closed this week as a result. I can email you a manual but I just can't do much further until I get back to work on Monday and I will have a huge amount to catch up on by then I am sure.
