will 2 175watt MHs over a 90 gallon tank support clams? I was think of going with the 250watt mhs but the one i have calls for the Iwaski 6500K bulb which has a yellowish tint to it. Every thing i read says these are great bulb as far a PAR and coral coloration and growth.

175's would be ok,250's would be better . the best spectrum for clams is 6500 to 10000k. r u sure u cant use other bulbs with that ballist? i dont think there are any ballist's that have to use a bulb of a certin k rating?

yes im sure. Its a DIY project and the ballast is will only rund the iwaski 6500Ks.

Should be fine. Just try to keep the maxima and croceas up a little higher in the tank. Other clams will be fine on the sandbed.
