another refugium lighting question

Well i went to lowes trying to find the buld and fixtures that were recomended on here without much luck. I want cheato and was told that 6500k was the best, but i couldn't find anything with that spectrum. I found some that were 3500k. I'm getting frustrated i guess lol, i need something simple. Is there a bulb i can use that will fit in a clip on lamp, like one of thoes compact florcent bulbs, but which one would be good? There was a 30 watt one, but it was 3000k then there was a daylight? one that was 25 watts that was 3500k. I couldn't find any spectrum info on any flood light type bulbs (not sure if you can really use them though). So any ideas ? I really just want to go with a clip on lamp, if it's possible, so much easier

Im pretty sure most plant grow bulbs are around 3500k - 4500k. any of those you mentioned would be fine. You could use a clip on light if you had a good CF lightbulb but that would probably mean it would be one of those twirly shaped bulbs and they are hard to clean.

Hows florida doing, It was a blizzard here in the mountains of Colorado today. I used to go to fla around that spring break time when I was in school in NC. Good hot sun.

is the best deal. 5100K, 19 watts is a fantastic light. I have been using them for a year now. Change every 6 months. You can also special order them at Home Depot. 3500k is very good.
The bulb just screws into a fixture like a flood or spot light does.
Best part is they are cheap and don't use much electricity.

I run mine 18 hours reversed. I read that some pods in the refug are only active in a night cycle. Hoowever, I do have friends the go 24/7 and have plenty of pods too.

awesome guys thanks, i'm going to buy the one on melevs page thats 61k and 75/16 watts since my refugium isn't to big or deep, probally about 6 gallons. thanks alot everyone!!!!

Yes Lights of america.6500k. It's in the light fixture section not in the replacement bulb section. Nice light that will grow macro insanely.
