Hello,

ID please on this fan-like macro that started growning on my live rock. Two pics showing old and new growth.

Graveyardworm: Thank for the ID

Bluenassarius: Gorgeous, slow growing, easy to remove, and unlike many of my other macros not a threat. Now if I can just figure out how to propagate it. It has a very large holdfast, I wonder it a piece of it attached to a rock would grow a new colony?

Origin of these two colonies is InlandAquatics of Terre Haute , IN (USA).

Samala: I also am attracted to marco algae and try to acquire new specimens, but before I learned to isolate them some became a problem. When I first saw a small colony at Inland Mike Ames (manager) called it an invader and not something they would sell. The next time I saw a colony it was growing in my reef. In one year I have two colonies, spreading but should be easy to control.

Samala & bluenassarius: If I could find some way to start new colonies on smaller rocks they are yours, all you have to do is drive over and pick it up.
