Anthia food?

What do you feed your Lyretail Anthias? I was thinking about basing the diet mainly around Cyclop-Eeze ( 4 times a day.) w/ precooked table shrimp a couple times a week. Has anyone got there anthias to eventually eat pellet or flake food?

I have two lyretail anthias and they both eat frozen mysis shrimp and flake food. I only feed them twice aday and they both appear to be very fat.

I feed cyclops-eeze, marine cuisine, frozen coral food daily and small flakes sometimes to my anthias.
They eat it all.
As for the shrimp, I would chop it up raw and feed it.

You don't want to feed them precooked anything. They dont BBQ in the wild so they wont need in your tank ;)

I mix up 1/2 shot glass, enough for the week, of fine cut nori, freez dried cyclop-eez, freez dried plankton, formula 2 pellets and add enough selcon to mix into a thick paste then freez it. I scrape spoonfuls of frozen food to feed, its like fish food sorbet. My anthias eat everthing in this mixture even the nori.

Very true. Fish have a hard time digesting pre-cooked shrimp. Stick with minced raw shrimp and the fish will be happy.

You must shell the shrimp. Its a good idea to just make your own frozen food in quantity.
80% scallop
15% shrimp
5% cyclopeze, selcon, vitamins and 2 cloves of garlic.
Chop it finely and flat pack it in a zipper bag.
Freeze it and then snap a piece off daily.
You can make enough for 3 months and it will stay fresh.
Your Lyretails will go crazy for it!!!
