so yesterday I saw 2 of my carberryi anthias pushing my one peppermint shrimp around with their mouths WIDE open. are they trying to get the shrimp to back off or do they want a snack? It could also be a possibility that they smell the eggs underneath the shrimp as both of my shrimp are carrying eggs. anyone had this experience?

Mistaken identity. They are trying to get cleaned by "cleaner" shrimp.

I'm sure Peter is right. You should seriously get a cleaner shrimp. My lyretail was on the verge of death about a week ago. I purchased a cleaner shrimp and the fish didn't leave its side for three days. Now the fish is like new again. I wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it for myself. From now on I'll always have a cleaner shrimp with my anthias. I'm even getting one for my QT.
