They looked ok at LFS. They both look scared in my 2nd QT, but their the only 2 in there. Went ahead a started copper tx. Anything else I can do to calm their breathing down? I'm sure they have ICH.

Copper won't help calm them down. They are just scared, if u just got them and put them in qt... Should give them time to adjust and start eating before dumping copper on them.
Did u acclimate? Was there a big salinity change? Qt have powerhead or air stone? Is temp good?

Temp is 78
QT has powerhead pointing up breaking the surface of the water and another small one circulating too.
I think they might just be scared. One seemed to do well, but then he quit eating and started to hide too.
I only plan on keeping them in that tank for a few days, because other QT has theraputic level of copper. Once I get them up to that level, I'll acclimate to primary QT. Not a great set up, but should be ok for a few days right?

yeah, they could use a few pieces of PVC.
update...big one died, and now the other is breathing hard. I did a big water change, check salinity, temp, etc...
started running some carbon, but im afraid when I get home the second will be dead. never have i seen some fish do this.
borrowed the tank from a buddy, and am beginning to wonder if some chemicals had got into it or something. I rinsed it before I put the fish in.
the big one was breathing hard from the get go, but the smaller one was swimming around and started to eat a little bit.. now he's acting like the other one was.

I don't know much but I do know the lyretails use a lot of 02 have you tried to ad a air stone it might help I got two from saltwaterfish and one was breathing very heavy and looked to have swim bladder drip apped I thought she was a lose but after some reading I found the can use 02 like crazy added a air stone been a month now and she loves her 220 display.. yours sounds like how mine was

I'll probably buy this one with the smallest tank they have.
Not sure if you have to use their expensive regulators, but they sure act like you do.
