anthias fighting

I recently purchased two bartlett anthias. They are healthy and eating well, but after a few weeks of swimming in harmony I notice they have started to fight. at first it was just a quick nip here or there, but now it is getting worse and they will go at it for extended amounts of time.
Does this mean I have two males ? Should I try and get a female ?

I love the bartletts and would like to try and help them get along

I wish I could help - I had a Bartlett's that was a terror - he'd go after the angels when they'd rise in the water column to spawn, same with the mandarins. I found him a new home - he was one very aggressive, but beautiful, fish.

I thought that was a bicolor you had, Marie?

To the OP, sounds like two males. Sometimes they will eventually coexist, sometimes not. You may just have to remove one.

Holy cow, you remember it better than I do! You're absolutely right. I let my tank go fallow after Hurricane Ike and have pointedly avoided thinking about fish up until the last week or so. It's all slowly coming back
Sorry for any confusion, Sully :o

Here, I found my picture of the little bugger - he was a beautiful fish, though the color in the photo's a little weird

I remembered your experience and your pretty photo. What can I say, I really like anthias :D
