Does anybody know the scientific name of an anthias found in the Carribbean that goes by the common name blue diamond anthias? My girlfriend brought one home for me today and i have never heard of it and can find only very limited info. My camera is broken at the moment so I will see if i can borrow one and get a pic up later.

Thanks,
Gabe

Unfortunately, IME, that name is a blanket name for many Caribbean Anthiines. Someone else may know the exact species, but AFAIK, it could be a number of species. Getting a pic will help.

I was finally able to get some pics of this anthias, hopefully someone can id it.

Looks like a juvenile "Creole Wrasse", Clepticus parrae, to me:

I don't know much about them except they school like anthias. Here is a thread about the adults: http://www.reefs.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=89116&sid=7d8006253dfc7c04ecb94c454b80d265
