Looks like a Lyretail, and acts like one too, but the coloration is off. Could it be a female turning into a male? The thing is, she/he has been stuck in duo-gender mode for nearly two years now.

Could it just be a lyretail from a different region?

it is a male lyre tail. A few months ago I ran out of cyclopeze for a while and ended not buying anymore for quite a while. Long story short my bright purple male turned a pale dull pink just like yours. Now I'm feeding him tons of cyclopeze and minced krill and his color is coming back real nice.

Looks lyretail to me. Feed more variety like said above and you should get some decent color out of him.

mine looked like that when I first got him..as mentioned a good diet and a couple of females will bring the color back...
