Hi , Thanks for you help this is important because i have been trying to stablish a haremof of 5 female and 1 male - this is my third try and i haven get trought the QT problem

I believe now im on my best to succeed - but i will need your help

The setting of the QT is a 20 gallon which was well seeded and cycle befor the fish when inside

I have a biowheel powerfilter a 600 gph power head that turns on on regular intervals
The temp is on the 76 - 78
The salinity is 1.025
i check the amonia 2 times per day and when is above .5 i change water
i dose with nitrifying bacteria from brightwell macro7 to dr tims .
I use a product call Fishkeeper like and extra which im dosing half of recomend dose.

All fish look vary healty i feed them 2 times per day with frozen mysis and some hikari, i soak food on kent garlick and , selco and vitachem, now im doing some brightwell vitamine also

Today (11 day) i feed a third time with Dr G frozen food with parzipro and they were voracious eaters. ALL OF THEM except one

I notice this Gal because its one of the biggest . She is letargic is not fighting for food , i havent seen her eating and i can se her mouth with with bumps , please check pic for that .

Can you help me identify the disease . And the meds to use
Should i isolate her OR should i treat the whole Qt tank

Other habitants are a yellow tail damsel and and pink belly wrasse

What meds do you dose your QT with so far all I see is you feeding them and that's not fighting anything they may have.

Thanks for your interest - i havent med anything yet because i havent see any disease so for . JUST today - My plan was to have them on qt for 2 weeks with out meds then do prazipro and if the were ok , go to display tank

Right now if dont get feedback - will probably isolate the week anthias in a 10 gallon hospital tank do some Prazi for 2 days and Furan 2 in the 3 day .

Some infections you will not see at all so that is why when I add fish to QT I start to dose meds two days after adding them I have six of those same anthias in QT now four females and two males this is what I dose

r you dossing all of them at same time
how long r been with the on qt .
How good does qt have turn to you ----

I agree with tmz above; ammonia at .5 is way too high; especially for touchy fish like anthias. I never liked bacteria additives but have changed my opinion and think Bio-Spira works well. Some good hobbyists like Dr. Tim's too. The way to handle ammonia in a qt (for future reference) is to keep the sponge from a sponge filter somewhere in the flow of your main system and it will be ready to cycle the QT when needed. I'd do more WCs until you can keep the ammonia near zero using media seeded with Bio-Spira. If you have a sponge that's been in the flow of your main system for a while, use it. I'd use some Prime, or another ammonia neutralizer, ASAP. I really think the ammonia is the source of your problems. DO NOT USE COPPER WITH PRIME.

Update

Update

Well lets update what happend

I took that decision of changing the sick anthias to the hospital 10 galon tank - but unfortunatly it was very weak and it died next day.

Then after a couple of days i saw another anthias going through the same symptoms so i diagnose it was a bacterial disseas and i treat the tank with FURAN 2 . All fish look vary vary healty after medicine was introduce i finish the first treatment and then i did water change

i wanted to do another tretmen so i started but i run out of FURAN 2 and then check out the SUPER ICH CURE from API also and it had the exactly 60% of Furacine so i dose that medice also and the fishes were vary vary active like if they where on meth

Then the second day i check my nitrite and they were vary high beyond api scale , i did a 50% change nothing happen , then i did another 25% nothing happen , then i did another 25% and nothing happen i was getting vary mad about this . The amonia wasnt soo high i did some research in ADVANCEAQUARIST i love that site and i find out that NITRITE is not as poison as Saltwaterfish as is in FW fish so i came more calme

I finish the second dose and in 4 days i return the salinity to 35 ppm

All fish looked vary healty , it was the 4 week and i decided to drop them in the display tank
This was my third batch of anthias harem so i was desperado to get them in my display tank

Its has been 2 weeks now and they are vary healty also the pink belly wrasse
