Anthias Lyretail trio….. problem :(

Hey everyone, on Wednesday a Trio of Anthian Lyretail came in the mail, ordered from Divers Den (Live Aquaria) "¦. In order to assure I don't introduce ICH in my Display, I used the Tank transfer method. One Wednsday morning when the fish came in, I added them to the first QT (matching salinity and Temp). This morning they were due for the transfer into the second QT.

After moving them they all were in great shape, however now I realize that one of 2 females is in the bottom corner of the tank breathing heavily. The other female seems to be acting normal, but after a closer inspection I notice the front two fins of the second female have what appears to be white "peeling" skin.

Im not sure what could be the cause of this but I would like everyones help in fixing this problem before I loose any of the fish.

I also just used PraziPro after noticing this "white peeling" hoping that it will help.

The male seems to be doing great, also all 3 of the fish ate this morning. :(

HOB filter with just some filter floss, there is also a air stone in the tank.

As for PraziPro, i literally just added 2ml of the stuff into the HOB filter.

Heres some pictures of the fish.

Heres the female that is acting somewhat normal although it does had the "white peeling" I mentioned on her front fins:

And this is the 2nd female which is laying on the bottom, breathing heavily. I also noticed that there are a couple lines of discolouration on the body"¦.:

Did you match the ph of the tank water? I had a fish exhibiting those symptoms and my ph was off. After I adjusting the ph it looked better, breathed easier and started to swim around. I also used melafix for fungus and fin rot on my purple tang and it worked well.

Well I was told PH isn't anything to worry about when using the tank transfer method....I will test PH how do I just it?

Since I'm doing the tank transfer method, would there be anything wrong in just performing another transfer a full day earlier?

That may be the start of Brook. Post in the fish disease section. A 5 minute fresh water should provide immediate relief if it is. Need to treat after...

Should I just go ahead and do a 5min freshwater dip? Rodi? Or could this hurt the fish and I should only do if I know it's brook for sure?

The male died this morning..... I wish I knew what it was and that I got the help I needed to save them but no one was sure what they had so I couldn't treat..

Did you have ammonia in your tanks? were u using prime ? ammonia kills more fish in QT than most diseases. A sign of heavy breathing and low in the tank sometimes is that of ammonia rising

did you slowly acclimate them to the tank from the bag even though you matched temp and salinity? Temp and salinity aren't the only parameters you need to match when acclimating fish from diver's den. A slow drip over the course of hours is absolutely necessary.

Completely disagree! Matching QT salinity to that of the shipping bag and doing a quick temperature equalization is far the best way to acclimate new fish - particularly ones that have languished in a shipping bag for 24-48 hours.

I guess we'll just have to disagree. Since I adopted a drip method in acclimating my fish from deliveries, my losses have reduced dramatically...and this is with 20-30 fish a week.
