congrats Brett ...they are one of my favorites...just watch for any aggression..if they aren't a pair they may fight...if you never had them before just treat them like most peaceful Anthias...hiding in the rocks etc...GL

i just picked up 3 sailfins, and although not as colorful as the pic above, i'm very pleased with them. Looking better and better every day.

I found that they like live black worms. Which was good as it helped fatten them quickly.

One of my lfs has a few anthias labeled as blue eyes anthias but I dont see any info for this fish on the web. Is there another name I should be looking for with this fish?

nivram- Thanks, Yea they get black worms once a day. All my fish go crazy for them. Sailfins actually ate within an hour or so after being introduced to my tank. I really like them

I think he means Lyretail Anthias or Ignitus/Dispar Anthias. Most likely Lyretail.

x2...Ive seen the juvi/females labeled as blue eyed and the males as spotfin Anthias...just check out my above photo of the females for an ID..

Maldives lyre tails are the only ones I know of that have blue eyes(female). They are stunning. Bright orange with blue eyes.

Love these beautiful fish! I just bought 3 lyretails as my first fish purchase. It was between the lyretails or bartletts, lyretails won but I would love some bartletts as well. I have a 120g 5 foot, do you guys think I'll be able to add 3 bartletts as well? Are you guys having luck keeping different types of Anthias together?

Okay thanks! My lyretails are eating 3 times a day, man are they pigs. The only thing they wont eat is flakes or pellets, I can't get them to eat it. Any suggestions? TIA!
