Anthias question

I have a 48X30X20 tank and am making my fish list. What are some anthias suitable for my size aquarium? Whats the best amount to keep? TIA

3 or 5 H. borbonius would look great in that setup. we've had a trio for about 18 mos. and out of the four species of anthias we've kept, they are my faves. they do bicker a bit every so often, but don't pick each other off the way many species do. they're great eaters, and are real stunners.

Do Bartlett Anthias pick each other off?

Generally no. While they often will turn male, this usually doesn't result in losses.

Lyretails, bartletts, dispar, ignitus would all be good choices for a tank that size. The latter two being a less hardy though.

I agree. I have had my trio of dispar for a couple months now and am very pleased with them.

Carlos, what other fish are in the tank already? My lfs has 2 large Borbs in their display tank. 650 gallons. they put in a load of chromis (small ones) in just for kicks. the larger of the two ate some of the chromis.... just throwing that in for smoething to consider.

Borbs get BIG. They will be in the "large fish" category of a tank the size the OP has.
