Anthias stocking question

I never had any problems with Lyretails, and recommend them ...

What do you feed them? How easy is it to wean them off of frozen food? Can it be done?

Wow, some great info here... I have a lyretail that is a bully. I was thinking of adding a female using an acclimation box is the best way I am guessing. Or am I going down a dark path?

I have had five of them for a couple of months and they won't touch anything but frozen.

They are my favorite Anthias. The male has a big personality not really aggressive but dominate.

I have 6 Carberryi anthias in my 210 along with Blue/green chromis, 2BT triggers, yellow tang, powder blue tang, hippo tang and a magnificent FoxFace. They are always out in the open mixing it up with all the others. Funny thing is that all 6 sleep in the same small cave as my male Blue Throat trigger. I feed them frozen cyclopeeze, mysis and freshly hatched baby brine shrimp. They get fed twice a day and for the life of me I can't get them to touch pellets.

I guess I will have to get fish roe from the oriental store and other frozen food. I read the FAQ on Anthias and the articles on RK magazine. The articles said that they will eventually eat anything that drop into the tank. I guess that this is too optimistic of HCS3

Last time I had a group of Lyretails it took a couple of months before feeding competition in my tank got them eating NLS pellets. Never took to flake though. My current Bartletts eat pellets with gusto.

This give me hope. I plan to use automatic feeder for them. If I can train them to eat pellets, I am home free.

Hi all, this thread is a wealth of knowledge....im looking for some advice and suggestions. I currrntly have a purple queen, i have him in a 12g QT to entice him to eat. Ive tried NLS, frozen mysis, cyclopes, flakez. Nothing. Evrytime i get close to the tank he would dart foe the rocks. I want to make sure he eats before i transfer him to my 70g DT...any help would greatly appreciated...
