Anthias trapped in overflow for 2 months! Found Alive

About two months ago I took the covers off my tank to give it a good cleaning. When I was finished with my water change I noticed my anthias was missing. I looked everywhere, behind the tank, in the sump... I could not find it. I thought maybe my cat got a snack or something. About five minutes ago, I shut the ball valve to my overflow and let the water level in my DT back up to the secondary overflow, so I could adjust the flow... I looked back up into the DT and there was my Anthias! Swimming around like nothing happened. He's a little skinny, but I threw in some mysis, and he went nutz eating... I feel like such a knuckle head. My wife just got done chastising me for irresponsible pet ownership.... Just glad he's alive and well!

I had a 6 line dis appear on me into the overflow as well.I had a bulkhead leak and disassembled it and into the sump he went.I couldnt believe it and he was still alive, i think he went missing for the same amount of time 2-3 months.

I had the exact same thing happen with a Bartlet. Went missing, checked everywhere and never found it. One day while I was feeding the tank I decided to clean the overflow grates, just happened to see a flash down in the overflow as food was spilling over. There was my bartlet.

found an occelaris in the overflow after 6 months or so. It's crazy how they can survive in there for so long. Too bad they cant yell for help!

I had a Green Chromis live in my filter sock for about 2 weeks. He went MIA and when I went to change my filter sock, there he was. He lived until I gave him back to the fish store for my upgrade.
