Anthias - using an acclimation box.

Hi all, so I picked up a pair of Yellowfin Anthias this weekend. I currently have them in an acclimation box to try and get them eating. They've been in there since Sunday and will currently eat frozen only. They show interest in pellets but spit them out. I have a pretty decent fish population so they'll need to be aggressive eaters to stick around.

Question is - how important it to get them eating pellets (if they're eating frozen already) and how long can they stay in there?

Tia for any advice.

Whenever i get a fish that is having trouble eating, i make sure to try as many different types of food as possible, and put a few drops of Garlic Extract in the tank about ten minutes before feeding. There is a big difference when you add a little garlic to the water.

What is your primary source of food for all your fish?
I just read some info about pellots actually being worse for polluting the tank than pellots. I've since stopped feeding pellots except for maybe 1x a week mixed in with frozen food.

And btw, bartletts are great eaters, very aggressive and may even chase smaller fish away. They can definitely hold their own

I feed Neptune's crossover diet twice a day for all the piggies. I have been doing a variety of frozen about 3-4 times per week. May need to up that.

So came home tonight and dropped a few pellets in the box and they both ate. They are acting energetic, not lethargic at all and are seemingly ready to go. Thinking now is as good of time as any..

And at the store they called them yellowfin, hadn't heard of that and didn't find much of anything convincing on a quick phone search. Do you think they're Bartlett's?

Yes, you have a male and a female. All my bartletts ate pellets after a while, even though I feed primarily frozen because my other anthias mostly don't eat pellets.
