poknsnok,
Whenever I hear of a fish with an "injury" on its side while undergoing hyposalinity, I always get worried that it might be Uronema. Anthias and Chromis get this a lot during hypo and 1.009 is lower than I would take an anthias.
Does this injury look red, with a diffuse outline and sort of loose, missing or raised scales inside it? Sometimes these lesions run diagonally, in line with the scale row(s).
I don't mean to be an alarmist, sometimes an injury is just that, but in this case, I have to at least wonder.....Uronema is a nasty protozoan that flourishes at low salinity, especially brackish water like you are running.
The typical scenario runs like this: a couple of weeks into the hypo, a fish will develop a red lesion. A few days later it will begin breathing fast, then die in a day. Other fish may or may not develop the same symptoms (Uronema is ubiquitous, it is found in most/all aquariums if you look for it, so it does not always tear through a tank like Cryptocaryon will).
Any chance of posting a photo?
