Anthony...need some help, thanks!

Hello Anthony,
I need some help choosing which acclimaiton procedure to choose for aclimating my fish (65 gallon marine aquarium) not yet started but i will be keeping clownfish, gobies....etc., my inverts n(shrimps, seastars, snails, hermits) and corals...is the drip or the floating method better? Thanks for the help! All advice will help....i just need your own experiences and which procedure was better....thanks!

I hope you will be quarantining before you add your livestock to your tank.

I like to float the baggy until the temp comes up to the tank level. Then place the animal into a bucket or container. I check the SG and pH. If they are close to my tanks levels I just add a little tank water (say a cup or less) every 15 minutes.

If the pH and SG are way off I will use a slow drip.

Yes! I have a 20 gallon quarentine tank...so i will be quarenting before i add my livestock to my tank...thanks! Anthony what do you think?

Yes we can! The ideas above are just fine. I personally float the bag and also do a drip on it over a few hours. I don't bother with pH salinity checks and drip anyway. Some inverts i.e. cucumbers are especially sensitive and sometimes I try to fight the urge to add them to the tank and will drip them for up to 5 or 6 hours. That may be overkill but its better than just kill.

Bophia-- Your post is not in violation the one above it is. Whenever you see blue writing like that it is a moderator taking something out of a persons post then replaceing it with a note to them telling the person it was against the user agreement.

I always use the drip method of acclimation. I also like to give the fish a formalin dip to kill any parasites.
