Antibiotic treatment as a prophylaxis

The Zooxanthellae are golden brown and do not contribute directly to any other color of corals or anemones.
From what I learned, the blue, green or red coloration are the anemone's sunscreen to regulate the activity of their symbionts. It will be more or less depending on the light you have it under. If all or most symbionts are gone the anemone reduces the "sunscreen" which make it look almost white.

Some pics at the fifth day. He is looking stronger. I do not like the brown color is getting but maybe he will recover the blue when placed in DT

I touched the nem very gently with tweezers in order to see his mouth witch is still not completly closed. He reacted standing up

The 6th day

I have transfered the nem to QT with a biological canister filter and a skimmer because tomorrow I am going to travel for one week. Cross my fingers :rolleye1:

Since the filter has been cycled with amonium chloride and a mix of Seachem Stability , Microbe Lift Nite Out II and Aquforest Bio S, in theory the only bacteria wich can be present in the water are nitrosomas, nitrospira and nitrobacter

Two power heads in front of each other in order to create ramdom flow: a Vortech Mp10 QD in reef crest mode and a Tunze 6025

Antibiotic treatment as a prophylaxis

Very sad evening today after return from a week of holidays. The nem is dead and decomposed in QT. The antibiotic treatment should have been prolongued during more days. The nem returned to be sick after several days in QT. He was OK during the first 5 days, but later deflated and never inflate back.

I think you stopped treatment too early. I always go the whole 7 days.

It's also a bad idea to go on a vacation with an anemone in QT.
I did it once and came back to mush.
If you know that you go on a vacation within a month or two, don't buy any anemones.

What camera are you using? I'm looking for at least 3 to cover my tanks but really have no idea which are suited and good.
