Any Blasto fans on here?

I just picked up this guy a couple days back from Uniquecorals. I love Blastos and have a few other more normal ones, but this is my favorite. Always looking for more rare colorations of them. Anyone who has some cool ones, post them!

You've gotten 7 new heads in less than 3 months? What magic are you performing in your tank?

daily feedings and good WQ, granted they are all baby heads and not as large as the ones in the pic, but regardless they still grew. Sometimes I feed small bits 2x a day. I went a to a coral propagtor for a tour one time and they explained to me that they feed their LPS such as blastos and acans 2x-3x a day for maximum growth, so I started doing the same with great results. The growth does come in spurts rather than steady growth though.

ksicard, what are you feeding? And what is your feeding method? Whole tank feed, or spot feed with syringe/turkey baster/etc.?

spot feed with baster/syringe every head (yes it takes awhile to get all my acans and what not). I mix up cyclopeeze and rods food orignial and feed 2x a day to fish and spot feed coral. Every other day I spot feed reef roids, also dosing amino acids manually and ca/mg/dkh via bubble magus dosing pump. Make sure to only feed each head small amounts, if you feed to large of an amount 2x a day they usually spit the excess food back up and slow down the whole digesting process. Everything is spot fed and feeder tentacles on acans and what not are extended pretty much 24/7.

I love blasto I only have one atm I need to get a decent picture and post it. It has mutiple heads but they seem to be crowding each other pretty bad. Really like the Red with green center though.

Mine looks exactly like that it has like 4 or 5 heads now and they are like folding over each other fighting for space.

I know my next coral now, thanks everyone. How much should I be looking to spend per head? I know there are a lot of variables but just looking for a ball park number.

From one of my local shops, I paid 30 for a 5 head frag. Paid 10 for a little two head frag from another local reefer. Both of those were of the more common green with orange/red fringe variety. Then I paid 80 for the 8 head red colony at the top of this thread and 35 for a 5 head frag of a sweet blue color.

So it varies, but I'd say 5ish per of the more common colors and closer to 10 for more rare colors. I'm just one data point though.

Nice Blasto's everyone. I have 4 varieties currently, always looking for new ones. Of the ones I have, this one is my favorite.

Wow that one looks killer! I recently got a 7 headed blasto. It's tiny. It looked real pretty at first, but over the last month it has slowly receded. Color is still bright its just getting so small. I've got it under T5HO lights so it shouldn't be TOO much light, but i've successfully bleached chalices and favias with my lighting so I guess the reflectors work real well. I've put it under an overhang in lower flow and lower light and hopefully they'll open back up. I was super excited to get them.
