Any Chalice collectors? How do you display your chalice?

Hi. Just wondering if anyone collects chalice here and what's your method of display!

I've been getting a few chalice lately but can't find a good way of displaying them. I've seen people with nice gardens of every type of coral, except chalice.

best I've seen are just huge round plates sitting on bare bottom like this.. (google image)

Anyone with better display methods?

If that garden were mature and grown in it could look pretty cool. Personally I've always been a fan of chalices naturally following rockwork, opposed to the round plates.

Good luck getting some inspiration. :)

whats the one in the middle? orange with light blue rim?

That is the Original Orenji.

I prefer to just let them grow in the frag tank for a great top down, That is where I think they can greatly be appreciated. I do have a few in my display and I just let them grow on the rock work like any other coral. It might take a while but in the end its worth it.

Some naturally "plate" and others encrust live rock. I think they look most impressive & natural when allowed to go this way, like they would on the reef. Some encrusting varieties grow well on vertical locations which looks good. A large colorful chalice is a sight to see IMO.

During the aclimation & grow out period, a frag tank or frag rack in the DT is fine. In the OP's pic, I think its a good idea the way the chalice frags are elevated off the sand with a rock slab underneath, avoiding direct contact with the sand.
