any clubs between C-SEA and URS?

Hi, folks. The URS (Upstate Reef Society of NY) encompasses an area stretching to the PA border. Are there any reef clubs between us- or are any reefkeepers in PA part of your organization?

Thanks, Norm. I'm familiar with those two clubs. I was wondering if anything ever got organized around Erie, PA.
Which club do people from Erie affiliate with- or don't they?

Hey Gary,

I remember someone posting on this forum a while back from Erie. He/She stated, at the time, that Erie didn't have any clubs.

Hi, Steve- how's it going? :)
I remeber that post, too- that's why I wondered if anything ever became of it.

Why not you ? Newbies especially benefit from being part of a reef club.

I have no idea of what i would be doing even to get it off the ground, i wanna make a trip to c-sea to see what goes on at a meeting. right now i know one other person with a reef tank, i know there are other because both lfs sell alot of fish and coral. i agree i would benefit from being a member of a club. no starting one might be over my head.

Hi Chuck,
I've been looking for a club in Erie also. I think you should start one. May be just an online club for starts.

I agree with Bill. Contact RC and initiate a new forum for reefkeepers in the Erie, PA region. I can help out if you're too shy. I know that Erie reefkeepers are out there. When you see a post on RC from someone in the Erie region, give them a link to your new forum. Tell them to post a new thread and introduce themself. Word of mouth works wonders. A strong club promotes better reef aquariums. Better reef aquariums will encourage more people to enter the hobby. It also promotes better LFS's in a roundabout way. It takes time, but it works.
The important thing is that someone must be the first to make an effort.

gary i sent a PM to beerguy here is a mod in the reefclub fourms, dont know if that is where i should start

Chuck
