Any good LFS in Boulder/Louisville area

Nope, none are worth going to.

There are only two shops in boulder:

Aqua Imports- 28th and bluff st (near valmont)
Exotic Aquatics 33rd and Arapahoe

I would actually say that you should give Aqua Imports a try. I'm not sure why cubuffs reserves his regard. (Sorry I've just been reading a nineteenth century novel and the language sticks.) But, Aqua Imports has made great strides in the last six months toward making their store a great place for salt water hobbiests, IMHO, and I think that sort of effort should be encouraged and (if you see something you like) rewarded.

It may be that they still have farther to go (although they certainly have had things worth seeing everytime I've been in lately), but dismissing them out of hand and placing them in the same category as Exotic Aquatics only encourages fish stores not to try to improve.

And finally if anyone from Exotic Aquatics reads this: please try to improve. If you do, I think it will be reflected in more business (I'll give you some). I haven't been in since January, but I was afraid to go back after the last visit. If you would like, I will stop by again and I will retract this statement if it is wrong. But it was bad the last time I was there.

Thanks! I hope you enjoy your visit!

Exotic Aquatics always has the sickest fish that I've seen at any LFS. The fish are always available for sale and not marked as sick. An extremely high number of the tanks have ick. This is true for both salt and fresh water fish. Their selection of corals isn't that great either. I will say on the positive side that their marine fish selection is one of the most eclectic of any LFS in the Front Range. Very odd fish selection but in a good way. Stuff I never see anywhere else.

Aqua imports has alot of nice stuff imo. They Just inproved the store in the last couple of months. 300 gallon soon to be sps dominated.....

definitely give aqua imports a shot. just dont judge a book by it's cover. it may look trashed, but they have some cool stuff. looking for acan lords, pink zoos, cactus coral, sun polyps, etc...they probably have it.

Exotic aquatics has to be the smelliest LFS in the denver/boulder area.

Aqua Imports looks too dirty...but they do have some cool fish. I have never seen a speldid pseudo before.

Yeah I guess go check out aqua imports, I've been there roughly 100 times and probably 4 times saw things that I had to have.

I got a red yuma there a few months ago for $70 and it's doing awesome! They had two others and when I went back week later to pick them up, they had both turned white.

So, you can get lucky from time to time there. IMO, they need to improve there coral selection (which they are doing, slowly.......)
