Any home remedies for the loose nanostream shaft problem?

This is the second of my two nanostreams to have the shaft come loose. Last time I had to send it back to my retailer who had to send it back to his supplier to get a replacement. As much as my SPS love living in low flow :rolleye1: I'd like to get this thing functioning as soon as possible. Is there any home remedy to re-attach the shaft or am I doomed to having to send it back in?

I've now had to replace the brackets on each of my Tunze pumps twice and now the shaft once on each pump. Can't say I have any love for Tunze any more - sorry

None that I would recommend, send it direct to the distributor and cut out the time on the dealers shelf would be my best advice. The shaft was changed to titanium alloy and the hole it is set in was made deeper and tighter so the shaft is now very secure. Replacement is the only permanent fix. I am sorry but we made mistakes with the release but we have worked very hard to resolve them and if you got the latest clamps made after last October you will probably never need another set. The motors are the same way, the new ones are very reliable and robust.

Unfortunately, the retailer from whom I bought the pumps is not listed as an official retailer of Tunze products in Canada - I didn't realize this would matter or that it was even the case at the time of purchase. I assumed, obviously incorrectly, that the kind of customer service Tunze provided by you in the US was the same thing I'd get in Canada. After speaking with Phil at Xenia (the Canadian distributor) he refuses to warranty or deal with any Tunze products not purchased through authorized retailers. So there's no circumventing the middle-man I'm afraid.
