Any Honeymoon Suggestions

My fiance and I want to use our honeymoon in June as an opportunity to see some beautiful ocean life. We have never been scuba diving, and everyone is telling me that we should just stick to snorkeling. We're thinking of taking a cruise of the Carribean. Any one have any suggestions about any good spots or advice on the feasibility of scuba diving for once in our lives?
Thanks

If you think you both have an interest in getting into Scuba, for more than a one time event, than I would recomend taking an Open Water course at a local dive shop and getting certified before hand. Otherwise, there is certainly some excellent snorkeling in the Caribbean. Assuming you looking at one of the large cruise ships, some of the better ports of call for diving and snorkeling are Grand Cayman, Cozumel, and Roatan. The cruise stops at "private" islands are typically great beach spots for swimming, but lacking in reef for good snorkeling.

So do you think I should just look for snorkeling excursions on different cruise line deals or if that just something you look around for in port at those places?

Take a look at both. Most cruise ships will run snorkeling excursions, however, you can often get a better snorkeling trip by booking something on your own with a local shop at the port of call with a little research before hand. Best bet is figure out what cruise you want to do, and once you know the itinerary look for some info on the specific ports that you'll be stopping in.

If you're set on a cruise and just want to snorkel a little ok, but me, I'd take a flight to Bonaire (Diver's paradise-it says so on their license plates!). They say the life starts mere inches below the surface, but twice I saw moray eels actually slither out of the water on top of rocks. My wife can't scuba dive due to an ear problem, so we only snorkel when we go somewhere together. They have tons of shore dive sights (all marked with a yellow painted rock by the side of the road). On most occasions I saw over thirty species of fish per snorkel trip. There is enough coral in 10 to 20 feet to satisfy most people, and although the night life is not great, there are good places to eat, shop etc.
