Any Ideas??

Trying to figure out what is wrong with my spotted cheek tang. Woke up one morning to find it covered in white spots. First thought is was ich, but the spots seem to big to be it. The fish is showing no signs of distress and is eating like a hog. Here is a picture that I took of it on Saturday. The spots now seem to be more like patches instead of dots. Any help would be appreciated.

It "looks" like Ich or Velvet; but if you don't think so, worms would be my next guess. Give him a f/w dip - see if they fall off.

I say no more than 5 minutes. Others do it a lot longer. But in 5 minutes time you should at least start to see the things fall off if they're worms; so at least then you'll have a better idea what you're dealing with. IME, longer than 5 minutes stresses the hell out of the fish.

Use a clear glass container so you can see the things as they settle on the bottom. They should turn white if it's worms. Aerate the container heavily, and ensure both temp/pH matches the tank you take him out of. Good luck!

Here is an updated photo I took of the fish today. I was doing some research and am wondering if these could be stress spots. The fish shows no signs of distress and is eating normally. Anyone with spotted cheek tangs have similar experiences?

Does he scratch? How many other fish do you have with him in the 75?

I have six other fish in the tank. I have not seen it scratch at all. Acts completely normal other than having the white splotches.

Kinda does look like stress spots to me
