When I first bought my 100 gal, it was full of different species of macro algae.
Every one went asexual on me at one point or another. It did help that I pruned, but they still went at some point.
I finally have rid myself of all macro, and just run with Chaeto in my fuge.
Too many times did I come home to a tank that was COMPLETELY white.
I didn't loose any fish to it, for what it is worth.
