I don't know. I'm not familiar with the species, but they seem to overlap in range with the catalina goby.
Where did you get your temperature information? I'm sure they are at least subtropical (see fishbase link below). Northern, and probably southern H. erectus are considered subtropical, and would probably be good tankmates with this fish.

Subtropical temperatures, IMO range from mid-60s to low 70s. Can you keep your tank reliably in this range? I live in NC, and I have a lot of trouble keeping my 210 at 78. I have a 1/3 hp chiller, cool lights (no MH and don't keep all lights on) AND I us a/c to keep the house relatively cool for other pets.
Do you ever see these fish for sale? I don't think I have ever seen them offered in the hobby.
I notice fishbase also lists catalina goby as subtropical, with temps of 18-22 C (64.4-71.6 F). Temperate is much lower, 50s to low 60s F.
