Any information or experience regarding Lythrypnus Zebra

Just curious about this fish. Looks to be a suitable seahorse tankmate. Hard to do a search on here though, keeps finding everything related to Zebra, which is normally zebra eels.

can you keep your tank cool? this is a subtropical fish. you would need to keep it with seahorses that prefer cooler temperatures.

How cool? From what I've found online, these fish are typically warmer than their nearest relatives, the Catalina Gobies.

I don't know. I'm not familiar with the species, but they seem to overlap in range with the catalina goby.

Where did you get your temperature information? I'm sure they are at least subtropical (see fishbase link below). Northern, and probably southern H. erectus are considered subtropical, and would probably be good tankmates with this fish.

Subtropical temperatures, IMO range from mid-60s to low 70s. Can you keep your tank reliably in this range? I live in NC, and I have a lot of trouble keeping my 210 at 78. I have a 1/3 hp chiller, cool lights (no MH and don't keep all lights on) AND I us a/c to keep the house relatively cool for other pets.

Do you ever see these fish for sale? I don't think I have ever seen them offered in the hobby.

I notice fishbase also lists catalina goby as subtropical, with temps of 18-22 C (64.4-71.6 F). Temperate is much lower, 50s to low 60s F.

I would be aiming to keep the tank around 72 degrees. Bluezoo is the site I've seen a few of these for sale before at. Actually, LiveAquaria too. If they are in the same category as the standard catalina goby though, that won't do me any good.
