Any interest in Group Order: Reefcleaners.org ?

Hi there,

I'm going to order from Reefcleaners.org. They have options for free priority mail shipping on all orders over $50. Some items can't be priority shipped, and if we got those we'd have to share a shipping fee. I'm flexible either way. The order will come to Ithaca if I place it. I was thinking to order on Wednesday so that it would be here by the weekend.

This is a good chance to spiffy up your refugium if interested. lmk:)

Even tho I can't afford anything right now I was checking out there web site and they don't seem to have much of a selection. Sea life inc. has a really good selection and shipping is not that bad either. Just thought I'd throw that out there. A little fuel for thought.

Sounds good, Sedo. I'm going to place the order tomorrow and it should come in on Friday or Saturday. I can acclimate your mangroves if you can't pick up same day. Shoot me a pm and let me know...

Hey Dave, actually, Sea Life Inc has a very slim selection of plants, which is what I'm ordering;) You're right, ReefCleaners has a small selection overall, but if they've got what you're looking for (plants, pods), then it's a good spot given the free shipping...

I did put the order in, so no more additions. I will update to tell you guys how things made it using priority shipping that they provide for free. Also, will post about the reef pods that they sell- really excited that we can now buy live pods in bulk! :)

Just out of curiosity what are you feeding with the pods? or are you trying to populate you tank with them?

Update:

the order came in, the snails appeared unstressed, the red macro was very nice, and pods were in phyto and the bag was still green. My angel has been pigging out on them since I added them.

Now for the not-so-good:

The mangroves were pods/seeds- since in the description it says propagules, and DrsF&S sells propagules with leaves/roots and distinguishes them from "pods", I was very suprised to receive mangrove seeds.

Nerite snails don't clean, they hang out at the very top rim of the glass. They do nothing.

Overall, I would pass on ordering again, sadly, unless I really needed something that only they had.

Nerites do clean... but they will also leave your tank on an almost daily basis for little sojourns in The Dry World. And of course, they forget to go back home. They're a pain.

Did you contact John about your disappointment about the mangroves? I've ordered from him a bunch of times, and have always had great service.

Yes, I did let him know that I felt he should somehow make it clearer, or put a picture and that I was not expecting seeds. fwiw, I'm not the only one. Sedo also got mangroves and he was also surprised at having received seeds.

I'm not upset or anything, just wasn't one of those shopping experiences that I say to myself "gotta do that again." ya know? I also would have liked to try the shoal grass, but unfortunately it is only whatever washes up on shore that they can sell. It would be cool if they would take the time to root them and the mangrove seeds and sell them as plants.
