Any issues with having a RBTA and Ritteri in the same tank?

I have both species together in the same tank without any problems.

wow lol - i think that about answers my question. all those nems and no clowns???

your far left ritteri is my favorite.

Gary, how often do you feed your ritteri's? When I feed mine, it really takes a long time for it to swallow its food while my rbta swallows it quickly. Is this normal? Sorry for the OT question. Could you also tell me what you feed? Thanks.

There is one little captive bred perc that stays so well hidden in the mags that I only get glimpses of him once in a while.

Maximus, yes it's normal for mags to eat more slowly than BTAs. What's important is that they have good appetites and that they are very sticky. I go through phases of feeding, sometimes two or three times per week, other times daily. I've been on an almost daily phase for a while now. With that kind of feeding, I do approximately a 40% water change per month. I like to keep nitrates undetectable, as I've observed movement when the nitrates start to go up. When nitrates are undetectable and water flow and light are high, they don't move at all.

I feed them PE Mysis (sometimes Hikari, but PE are larger and according to their nutritional information are very high in protein), krill, squid, silversides, trout, shrimp, occasionally scallops. I find that they have a more vigorous feeding response if I don't get stuck too long on one food. For that reason, I try to vary it up almost every feeding. They especially like fresh food right from the seafood dept. I cut the pieces up so they are maybe the size of a peanut, no larger than say a cashew.

Smaller pieces make sense as I fed it a large piece of silverside, however, it merely regurgitated it right back up. I feel like it was too large a piece to feed it (~1.5").

Gary could you describe your tank a little bit? Tank size lighting ect. Thanks. I really want a magnificent anemone and I already have a bta.

Are there different species of ritteris? in garys picture the ritteris all have plump short to medium tentacles. My ritteri has thinner and longer tenticles, i kind of like the plump short tenticle look. Any tips on how to keep so many nems in the same tank?

That tank is a 50g breeder. Fan cooled Tek 6 bulb fixture. Circulation Maxijet 1200, Koralia 3, another 300 gallon an hour or so from power filter (for carbon) and protein skimmer.

As far as long vs. short tentacles, I think it may have to do with flow, light, perhaps genetics. I've had mine under both T-5 and MH, in both cases the mags tentacles looked about the same. However, the E. quadricolors bubble under t-5s and not under MH.

do you also think it has to do with age perhaps how big the ritteri is? because mine is pushing about 20inches when fully open. noticed all your ritteris might be still small in size? how long have you had that setup running with all those nems?
