If the power is 13.8 watts, and you have 225 LEDs, each LED is a tiny tiny power output. The LEDs we're using in the DIY arrays are 3 watts each...

Completely useless, IMHO.

Gotta agree after my reading of the pertinent threads... NOPE, won't work. No free rides here those just don't have the intensity, or efficiency for our application.

Idea would be to set 2 panels like this and 2 equaly large panels blue
would also add some T5 to it

whatever T5s you add to them will be doing your tank more good than 4 of those panels combined

i say go the DIY route you will need less than a quarter of the LEDs than the number of LEDs on 4 of those panels and will have a TON more PAR and be able to actually grow corals

It all boils down to efficiency. A really good HP LED can be above 100 lumens/watt. An average HP LED might only be 50. A junk 5mm LED might be 20 or worse.

So, if you're looking at commercial fixtures, don't waste 5 seconds of your time unless the make/model/bin of LED is advertised, or the fixture is being sold by a very well trusted vendor. Sadly, this rules out 99% of LED fixtures out there on the 'net.
