I recently acquired a P. ciliata and now have the mantis "itch". The ciliata is currently housed in a 20g Long. I had originally set the 40 Breeder up as a prop tank but am now considering turning it into a Peacock tank.

I know there is a mantis forum, I'm there often, but wanted to know if any members have one and their experiences. TIA!!!

I dont have a mantis, but I do know pets plus up in lockport has a peacock in the back room for sale for 50 bucks. I was there yesterday checking stuff out. They also have a very nice looking zebra. The peacock was looking a little rough but it might have been close to molting.

I had a Peacock for about a year until I had a heater problem that killed it. They seem to be very active and curious. I dont know that much about the species. I just saw it at the store liked it so I brought it home and set up a tank.

whoa whoa whoa...okay..this is an area i am SO a noob in...Peacock? Zebra? are these water dwellers? pictures please? lmao.

i had a g tern for a year or so. they both get to a similar size. i think a 40 would be the smallest i'd go, my g tern was very active and used every inch of it's tank.

Yeah they are very gorgeous and awesome to watch. I used to sit there for hours watching mine. I have a video somewhere of my peacock and a very large stone crab going at it.
