Any luck saving after Der mantle receeds?

I think that I had a large temp dip (75 degree) the last few nights and the mantle on my large deresa has receeded about 3/4" into the shell. Is there any luck on saving him? I have added an extra heater and the temp is steady at 78 degrees.

I also noticed that in the past few year he has become more bland in color and color pattern seems to "crack" in certain places. Is this a common occurance of Deresa clams? Have had clam for ~5-6 years.

when they recede into the shell like that there pretty much done. the only time ive ever seen one recover was just last week in this thread http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1243543 i wouldn't recommend giving it a dip though. IMO dipping it would just kill it but it worked for her.

75 isn't too cold IMO. have you made any other changes in the few weeks before the clam started to decline? are you sure nothings picking at it?
