Any Midas Blennies at LFS

Qwiv

Persistant Perspective
Like the title says... anyone seen a Midas Blenny pop up at the LFS. They are kind of seasonal and I think it is about that time.

I think I saw several at Aquatic Gallery in Milpitas. I'm 99% certain that's what they were, but we were there late and the lights were off in the tank the were in.

Call and ask for Billy. He'll know for certain if they have anymore in stock. They have clams and rabbitfish up the wazoo if any one is looking. :D

I never had good luck with those damm fish... all my time reefing.. can never have them last in my tank.... Too much flow, wrong fish with them ????

Really? They are so easy to keep. They eat everything and sit around all day. I have never had a fish bother them. The only possible conflict would be with another blenny.

I only lost the last one to a gorilla crab.

saw one today at Connie's tropical fish in Castro Valley. forgot the price tho...... check it out.

Where they the bright yellow ones, or the duller (little brown) African type?

would one of these fight with a bicolor in a 180, or is that to small?

I would introduce them at the same time. i am going to try a Midas and a Lawnmower in a 180. I think I might have good luck with the combo, since a Midas in not an algea eater like most blennies and the LMB looks so different.

The Bi-Color would look a lot like a midas and the last bi-color I had was pretty aggressive. They are one of the easy fish to remove however.

Qwiv, if you're still looking for one, I just saw one at Aquatic Central in SF, off of Ocean Ave.

So there's two species of Midas Blennies? I always though the duller ones are just scared/stressed out. I bought one like that and it colored back to normal once it got accustomed to the surroundings.
