I have found nice healthy purple, blue, green, and multi colored gigs locally in FloridaI just found a nice multi colored one last week. Lol
you just have to have a lfs bring one in..... most of the lfs's get their livestock from rather a wholesaler in Tampa or Miami... both places get gigs in...
IMO, you are much better off getting one locally and seeing it first rather then having it shipped....
Greens are about the hardest color to find not matter where you are located, imo. Out of about 3 yrs of looking, I only found one nice green....
Where are you located?
I'm up in Ocala.
Problem with having my LFS order me one is that I'm not going to ask a LFS order me something and then stick them with it if it's either not bright enough green for me or not healthy enough looking. I don't think that's fair to them. I think I'm better off getting one that I can see a picture of than hoping the LFS happens to get a good one sent to them.
Where? I'm in Orlando vicinity.
You don't have a lfs that goes and hand picks livestock in Tampa? I get picks and price of them while they are at the wholesaler... I tell him yes or no thanks. I have known him awhile though, and he knows I will buy it if I tell him so...
You could always call a couple shops in tampa. I know some of them get them in fairly regularly...
Whatever floats your boat... good luck finding a nice green...
Stop by ocean's direct in longwood. They get different nems in on a fairly regular basis.
John out at the mad reefer west in Melbourne gets some of the nicest livestock around! You would probably have to have him pick up what you are looking for though....
Finding any color gig down here in Florida is almost impossible but we definitely never get any nice ones. Looking for a nice bright green to round out the collection. Anyone see any at a local store?
There are out there but the stores that keep green gigs in stock do not ship. Your best bet is to work with a LFS or DD.
I've seen quite a few come through our Sacramento area stores. The greens seem to run in the $100- $175 range and the blue and purple gigs around $200-250. Though they will often cut good deals for repeat customers and local club members

Could you pm me some names of the stores that have had them?
I'd contact Aquaworkz in Sacramento. They are usually the best bet for gigs and carpets locally. Ask for Ernesto.I've seen quite a few come through our Sacramento area stores.
