Any one else get their electric bill?

Just got mine today and holy crap. Im guessing its from the heat and the cold horrible weather we had but seriously it more than doubled. december 150. this month 320. SRSLY! just over 2300 KWH

just checking if every ones doubled or had a significant increase? or is my house just that poorly insulated. Or is this in conjunction with the rate increase its now up to

Yes I did on friday and I about punched a whole in the wall. Normally its only 120-130 and this past month it was 277.10!

I'm just opposite. Mine went down. But it allways does in winter time.

Summer months $525-$625

Winter months $325-$375

Havent got mine yet but holy crap my normal bill is around 380 if it doubles I'll be in bad shape lol

mine's usually 400 but it was just over 200 last month.
but we heat with NG, not elec.

Are you guys with Progress Energy? I heard they had a rate increase. I'm with Teco. Ours usually runs around 200-250 or so. If our bill goes up I'm sure I'll hear about it from the CFO a.k.a Cindy. I'm sure I'll be blamed somehow.

So it does look like quite a few peoples went up alot (im guessing we dont like cold very much) lol

I do havea pool but i didnt run my pool pump at all last month was 140 so im guessing from the cold it costed me 160 bucks to heat my house, really. Its a new unit but its only emergency heat which i know costs more than a heat pump but still.

My tank is pretty low energy consumption a single 175 halide (just got a 2nd one though ouch) and a few low watt pumps so its not running that much $ i dont think. well its january now and i have actually ran the AC 2 times at night to cool a little but mainly to pull out moisture ehh. hopefully i can keep it off this month and next and it will come back down, i hope.

And yes Progress-ivly increasing Energy company

2k sq ft house (2 story).2 people living here.no pool tanks are 120 tenacor and 100ish lee mar and 29 biocube all have T5 lighting. ac stays at around 73. electric stays 350-380.we are on a well though so i dont have a water bill also which helps a little .

5 tanks with metal halides in them all lol. That'll do it.

I had one of them 2 story Marondas, and I keep my ac at 68 at night, 77 during th day, and my bill use to run about $110, only 2 of us though.

Ours is normally $80ish and it was $216 last month. And we didn't have the heat on the whole time, and the highest it was ever on was 68...usually overnight.
