Any problem with feeding a bird wrasse with live crickets?

So I was feeding a gecko this morning with some crickets, then it dawned on me... I wondered if my fish would like some. So I dropped one in the tank and my male bird wrasse snatched it with a second. He was swimming around the tank for awhile with it in its mouth, then proceeded to swallow it. Any problems with feeding crickets to the tank?

One that I can think of: you might end up attracting the gecko to the tank: ours disappeared down the gullet of a koi, trying to water walk on our office pond.

Also hope your skimmer is up to the task: even if something goes entirely into the fish, it does go on into the tank as fish poo, and I honestly don't know if insect chitin is also what composes shrimp shell.

i wouldnt see a problem with it as long as its viewed as an occasional snack and not his entire diet. im no expert on the topic but id imagine a crickets nutritional makeup isnt sufficient for a marine fish such as a wrasse.

xdusty is correct. An occasional snack is fine, but do not make it into a habit, as it can lead to disorders and nutritional deficiencies.
