,,,

just need to find some time to get it going ,,,I love my wife !!!!!!

I ended up getting a gift card for the LFS here, and an aquarium book from my little sister, and the parents gave me the money for my new tank that Keith is building for me. Then with the extra cash I got... an ACIII & remaining Ca Reactor pieces will be on the way soon.

One of my favorite gifts was a TomTom GPS though, and an IOU for a new cell phone. So now no more getting lost in Elyria going from house to house!

TJ ,,check the overflow set up , it has the 3 holes for the long overflow box. the short one that is on there is too big right in the middle of the tank ,,its huge and ill bet makes the noise of a small river in my living room, , i just need to gather up all the plastic i need to make the stand pipes , and i have zero clue where to get all of that ,,,

You should be able to find bulkheads at SaltyCritter... then all the remaining plumbing supplies I found at Lowe's.

Once you get the standpipes, and down turned elbows on there, it will really quiet down... then the siphon will silence it. Also... if you find out you have a lot of extra room (front to back) inside the box, you can always have a new one made, and "slim fit it" to just fit all your plumbing.

Any particular reason you didn't cover the back? If you cover or paint it in black that box will disappear and blend into the background.

and i need to drill one hole in it , the return is there on the left side of the tank , but not on the right ,,and i have never done that either ,,

oh yea , the back is getting painted black ,,whats a good paint to use for that ?? i might start that tonight

It looks like it's gonna be hard to reach that light switch behind there. :)

If you are planning to use the bulkheads for returns like you have the locline in right now you might want to consider the water that will drain back into your sump when the power is shut off to the return pump.

Without going over the rim and drilling siphon break holes you will have water draining until the returns can suck air and break the siphon. It looks like that would be several inches and that could add up to 30-40 gals that you have to catch or it ends up on the floor.

Also, if your locline leaks at all it could drain all the way down to your bulkhead before stopping.

Just thought you would like to know potential problems before they could become real problems. You know how that Murphy guy gets with his law.

thats not the final resting place ,,i just borrowing a chunk of the dinning room until i can move it where my current tank is
along this wall here,,, just need some time to get it started ,,thats a WHOLE day of moving tanks around ,moving it all from my old tank
