Any skimmer I can use outside / away from tank

I have a 24g JBJ and lately I have been thinking I want to add a protein skimmer. My goal here though is to have the skimmer placed about 3 - 5 feet away from the actual tank behind a couch and connected with silicone tubing. I'd love it if I could use an AquaC Nano skimmer, but I don't want to de-hood my tank. Anyone have any recommendations?

I dont know if thats really possible, other than using a counter current skimmer.
