Any way to encourage a RBTA to split?

I've had an RBTA for about 18 months now, very healthy and hosting a pair of Maroon clowns. However, it has grown to where it's getting too large. It's about the size of a basketball when fully expanded during the days, and is rubbing against other coral and killing them off.

I would like to encourage it to split somehow. I figured that would bring it down to a more manageable size and I can give one to someone who would like one.. anybody have any suggestions?

I've heard of feeding it a lot. 2 days feed, 1 day off.

A big water change will do it, but it's because the wc will stress it.
